On Monday, February 27, 2023, the seminary held a farewell mass for Father Tareq Abu Hanna, who served the seminary for a period of 6 months as responsible for the Propaedeutic year (preparatory year) and responsible for the spiritual life in the seminary. The mass was presided by Father Tareq, in the presence of the seminary priests, sisters and students.
In his homily, he expressed his joy at having had the opportunity to serve the beating heart of the diocese, the seminary. He also stressed the need for future priests to live in love, to be the salt of the earth and the light in the world, to live their vocation honestly, and to maintain their friendship with the Lord and with their brethren. At the end of his sermon, Father Tareq gave some advice to the seminarians, stating: “your spiritual life does not depend only on the liturgy of the hours, it depends above all on you and your interaction with God’s grace. Set aside personal time to talk to God and learn about Him. Build strong friendships and always be attentive to the needs of those around you. Ask God for the grace to be priests like Him, for he is the High Priest.”
At the end of the Mass, the Rector of the Seminary, Father Bernard Poggi, thanked Father Tareq Abu Hanna for his service and trustworthiness, especially in the spiritual upbringing he provided to the seminary and the students of the Spirituality year in particular.
We thank God for the service of Father Tareq and for everything he provided during his days at the seminary, and for his love and sincerity to the formation of future priests. We ask the Lord to bestow his grace on Father Tariq in his new mission as a priest in the parish of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist in Madaba, through the intercession of our mother, the Virgin Mary, the mother of the priests.
أقام المعهد الإكليريكي يوم الإثنين الموافق 27/02/2023 قداساً وداعياً لقدس الأب طارق أبو حنا الذي خدمه فترة 6 أشهر كمسؤول عن السنة التحضيرية (سنة الروحانيات) ومسؤول عن الحياة الروحية في الإكليريكية.
وقد ترأس القداس الأب طارق بحضور آباء المعهد الإكليريكي وراهباته وطلابه. وفي عظته، عبّر الأب طارق عن مدى فرحه بأن يحظى بخدمة قلب الأبرشية النابض، المعهد الإكليريكي، كما وركز على ضرورة أن يعيش كهنة المستقبل الحب، وبأن يكونوا ملح للأرض ونور في العالم، وأن يعيشوا دعوتهم بصدق، ومحافظين على صداقتهم مع الله ومع إخوتهم. وفي نهاية عظته قدم الأب طارق بعض النصائح لطلاب المعهد، ومنها: إن حياتكم الروحية لا تعتمد على المنشئين بل تعتمد قبل كل شيء عليكم وعلى تفاعلكم مع نعمة الله. خصصوا وقتاً شخصياً لكي تتكلموا فيه مع الله وتتعرفوا عنه. ابنوا صداقات متينة وكونوا دائماً مهتمين لاحتياجات من حولكم، اطلبوا من الله نعمة أن تكون كهنة على مثاله، هو الكاهن الأعظم.
وفي ختام القداس شكر، رئيس المعهد، الأب برنارد بوجي، الأب طارق أبو حنا على خدمته وأمانته وخاصة فيما قدمه من تنشئة روحية للإكليريكية ولطلاب سنة الروحانيات خصوصاً.
نشكر الله على خدمة الأب طارق وعلى كل ما قدمه طيلة أيامه في المعهد، وعلى محبته وغيرته على المعهد. ونطلب من الرب أن ينير الأب طارق في مهمته الجديدة ككاهن في رعية قطع رأس يوحنا المعمدان- مأدبا بشفاعة أمنا مريم العذراء أم الكهنة.
